A little about yours truly

My name is Eleanor Bates, also known as Ellie. I am an upcoming senior at NYU Tisch in the photography department. I also study child psychology. I grew up in the college town of Norman, Oklahoma and attended the University of Texas in Austin for a semester before transferring to NYU. I can honestly say that it wasn't until I moved to NYC that I began to realize the true scope of the world.

Growing up, there were only a few types of people I was surrounded by and a couple of views that were "acceptable" to have. As I age, I continue to discover my voice and views although they may differ from my fellow Oklahomans. I have found that through art, political, social and personal standpoints can be projected in a comprehensible and, dare I say, enjoyable way to even those who may not agree. I hope to continue to discover the wide array of personalities, opinions, and perspectives that fill this world.

My photography ranges from stand up comedy to studio projects to portraits. The truth is, I am finding my place! My passion falls into branding and bringing everything I’ve learned so far to understanding how brands are perceived, incorporating my psychology background. I have worked with brands such as Outdoor Voices and Parade to incorporate my visions into their’s. Whether it be through reviewing products, providing content or photographing personalities I love to represent and create aesthetics.
