THE WOMEN IN CHARGE
The project is focused on documenting two women I was lucky enough to shadow. At this time, Gabrielle Korn was working as Editor and Chief at Nylon Magazine and Kristina Rodulfo held the position of Senior Beauty Editor at Elle.com. I focused on the behind the scenes of their jobs while emphasizing on their different personalities. Each woman was asked ten questions ranging from “describe yourself in one word” to “what is something you would tell your younger self.” They answered in their own handwritings on a sheet of paper which were then hung next to the photographs during a gallery showing. With just the few words, personal script and photos, it was clear these two women represented the diverse dynamic that the editorial world holds. The spunk, the glamour and the grit that it takes to make it in this industry is embodied in both these women and the diversity within is what makes it what it is.
