In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, I had to fly back to my family’s home in Oklahoma. The pandemic has left parking lots with as many people as the cornfields as COVID-19 continues to effect every corner of my life.

sunrise in the city

The city streets are filled with people, noises, lights and cars almost every hour of the day… ALMOST. There is a special time where the city is quiet and the sidewalks most peaceful. Today the streets are bare at many hours and the hustle I thought I had had enough of, I miss everyday. Working to find a new normal, I take my daily walks with my dog at sunrise, a time of day that the shortage of people doesn’t seem wrong or feel lonely. Sunrise is peaceful, hopeful and comforting.
